The last remaining residential building to ever provide shelter to the Lewis and Clark Expedition leaders, Merriweather Lewis and William Clark, the Locust Grove is a National Historic Landmark in Louisville, Kentucky. It was owned by Clark?s sister Lucy Clark Croghan and her husband, William Croghan.

The Locust Grove was built in 1790 in a domestic Georgian style of architecture. It became the site of gathering for numerous important folks, aside from Lewis and Clark. Prominent figures, such as various US Presidents also graced the halls of this home at different times.

The Locust Grove now operates as a historic house museum and features 55 acres of the original 694 acres of the former Croghan farm. It is operated by the Louisville Metro government.
