The Patton Museum of Cavalry and Armor was established for the preservation of historical materials that are related to Mechanized Cavalry and Armor; for making these materials available to Armor soldiers and for public exhibit and research. The Museum, established in 1949 and now one of the country’s largest Army Museum Systems, is administered by Fort Knox, Kentucky, and the U.S. Army Armor Center.

The Patton Museum provides its visitors a glimpse on the life of General George S. Patton and his accomplishments. He was distinguished in the World War II as he commanded a corps in North Africa and the Seventh Army in Sicily.

The Museum also holds the Patton Gallery, which features numerous personal effects and memorabilia that are related to General Patton.
