The Pine Mountain State Resort Park is a state resort park and recreation area in Pineville, Kentucky. It is best noted as the first state park in Kentucky.
Established in 1924, the Pine Mountain State Resort Park was created soon after the Kentucky State Parks Commission was formed. The park was created through the strong interest of the Bell County locals in establishing a state park.
Today, the Pine Mountain State Resort Park overlooks the Kentucky Ridge State Forest and is home to several natural attractions like the Rock Hotel and the Hemlock Garden. Visitors can also enjoy the park through birding, hiking, swimming, and picnicking. The park also boasts of playgrounds, the Laurel Cove Ampitheater, a nature center, an 18-hole and miniature golf courses, as well as a gift shop.
