The Yew Dell Gardens is a 33-acre property that started out as a farmland owned by couple Theodore & Martha Lee Klein. Beginning in 1941, the couple had lovingly devoted over sixty years of their lives to building their private estate, commercial nursery, and their expansive collection of exotic plants. A self-taught artisan, Theodore Klein was an internationally renowned plantsman and his exquisite gardens were soon known as the ?Yew Dell?.

The Yew Dell Gardens is composed of four sections: the Arboterum, the Serpentine Garden, the Secret Garden, and the Walled Garden, which is a traditionally designed English walled garden sponsored by the Glenview Garden Club.

One of the most popular events held at the gardens is the Theodore Klein Plant Awards ceremony, which recognizes the newest and best plants for landscapes in the state.
