The city of New Orleans is famous for its laidback and cozy ambience. In the historic French Quarter, there are many places where you can hang out and chill. One of these establishments is the popular historic coffee shop, the Café du Monde.

Located at Decatur Street, Café de Monde was established in 1862. For almost 150 years, this humble building has been serving its loyal patrons and tourists. The café is open 24/7, except for holidays like Christmas and “hurricane activities”. It serves its popular New Orleans-blend of chicory coffee, as well as its café au lait and French-style beignets.
Because of its popularity and history, the café has been featured in several works of fictions by authors like John Connolly, Anne Rice and Nancy A. Collins. The café has also expanded its operations to shopping malls in the New Orleans Metro area. It also has branches in Japan.
