To take in some creative and bohemian vibes, you can spend your time in the Jackson Square in the laidback city of New Orleans, Louisiana. Also known as Place d’Armes, Jackson Square is the city’s cultural and artistic hub for almost three centuries. New Orleans was a former French colony, so it’s no wonder that French influence is so evident in the design of the plaza square; it was designed after the famous Places de Vosges in Paris, France.

From 1920s to 1980s, artistic and people of various talents like painters, street performers, professionals, art students, and dancers gathered in the square. Today, the artistic vibes are still very much alive in the square. Several formal concerts and impromptu performances are held here every year. Other nearby attractions include the Pontalba Buildings, 18th century brick buildings that house several establishments; Jax Brewery; and the famous Café du Monde.
