The Oak Alley Plantation is situated in Vacherie and is a mansion that was famous for being of Greek Revival structure. It got its name for having two rows of oaks planted way back in the early parts of the 1700s. Built between the years of 1837 and 1839, the entire plantation was put back to restoration and was eventually decorated with periodical types of furniture.

Just for being located too in the exact location of the Mississippi River right in between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, the popular plantation has also been called as the Grande Dame of the Great River Road. Many say that there is no other place in the south that can render you such an amazing panoramic views that is truly unique.
