The Madewood Plantation House had been built in 1846 and is now registered as a National Historic Landmark. Today, it?s one of the state?s most luxurious full-service bed and breakfasts. The main house offers four upstairs bedrooms and one other on the ground floor.

The Charlet House, built in the early 1800?s, is an informal but beautifully riverboat captain?s home that?s connected to the main house through a splendid patio shaded by majestic oaks. The Charlet House offers two additional family suites as well as a romantic bedroom that?s equipped with its own private-screened porch and a fireplace.

Guests staying at the Madewood Plantation House or the Charlet House will enjoy a meet-and-greet at the library every 6:00PM with a sumptuously prepared wine-and-cheese reception. For outdoor pleasures, guests may enjoy a match of lawn croquet.
