The Abbe Museum provides innovative exhibitions and programs that promote Native American Heritage. Over the years, it has become a privately operated contemporary museum in downtown Bar Harbor.

At the Museum, visitors will be able to find a stimulating and dynamic exhibitions and programs that are scattered throughout quiet and tranquil spaces that encourage reflection. The Museum’s changing exhibitions, workshops, special events showcase the history and cultures of the Native people of Maine, and the Wabanaki. From springtime to Fall, the Museum also features the historic trailside Museum at Sieur de Monts Spring. All in all, the Museum provides the people with an essential resource for the Wabanaki cultures and history.

The Museum also offers archaeology field schools and craft workshops for children and adults.
