The Cobscook Bay State Park is a state park and recreation area in Edmunds Twp, Maine. It is best known as a camping destination.
As the name suggests, the Cobscook Bay State Park features the Cobscook Bay. It also provides access to some areas of the Whiting Bay. It is most popular for camping, as it has a series of waterfront campsites, giving visitors the feel of island camping without having to actually leave the mainland. Aside from this, folks can also easily enjoy beachcombing, canoeing, sea kayaking, and bird watching at the park.
Noted for having what geologist Nathaniel S. Shaler described as "a more interesting assemblage of phenomena than can be found on any other part of the eastern seaboard of the United States", also offers a unique geologic legacy.
