The McLaughlin Garden started as a personal space of Bernard McLaughlin in the late 1930s. He worked mostly on his own on the two acre garden until he died in 1995, at the age 98. Today, the McLaughlin Garden is one of the most beloved gardens in Maine. It is also a haven for gardening enthusiasts and fans of the craft from all over the country.
Owned by the McLaughlin Foundation, visitors troop to this part of South Paris, Maine mostly during the Spring and Summer months to see the flowers bloom and attend the season events like workshops, parties, and other festivities. People can also purchase plants from the shop. There?s also the Garden Caf? that is open from Wednesdays through Saturdays.
