The Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park is a state park and recreation area in Freeport, Maine. It is located five miles from the city center of Freeport.
The Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park was acquired by the state of Maine in 1969 through a donation made by the Smith family. It provides an excellent getaway from the bustling city life, allowing access to various natural habitats. It has marshes, open fields, and hemlock and white pine forests among many others.
Visitors of the Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park can enjoy it the most through birdwatching. Ospreys are the park?s regular residents, nesting on the nearby Googins Island. They also have interpretive signs on the trails explaining the life cycle of these animals.
