The Baltimore Museum of Industry is located in what used to be a mid-19th century oyster cannery. The museum offers fascinating insights of how life was like in port cities in those years, with exhibits featuring full-scale replicas of workshops that were used to operate various activities like garment-making, printing, machining, and metal-working. One other interesting exhibit of the museum is its display featuring a 1910 pharmacy, wherein the invention of ‘Noxema’ took place. Also worth checking out is the exhibit featuring the first gas producer founded in the country.

The museum’s Maryland Milestone Wall, on the other hand, is a tribute to many local innovations and inventions that had a significant impact on the rest of the world. This included to having the first umbrella-making company in the country, the first typesetting machine and disposable bottle cap. It was also in Maryland that the modern radar was invented.

All in all, everything from broadcasting to food canning and all other activities that linked the Industrial Revolution to modern age are properly highlighted in the museum.
