The Calvert Marine Museum is a public non-profit, educational museum that is dedicated to collecting, preserving, researching, interpreting the culture and natural history of Southern Maryland. It aims to interpret 3 maritime themes including the regional Miocene paleontology, the estuarine life on the tidal Patuxent River and adjacent Chesapeake Bay, and their maritime history as well.
Visitors to the Museum will be able to explore on the prehistoric past and the natural environment of their region by getting to know the unique stories behind it.
The Museum covers 29,000 square feet of exhibition space that houses the 3 galleries. The Museum?s waterfront features the Drum Point Lighthouse together with the Cove Point Lighthouse.
The Museum also has its own library and wood carving shop that will provide more excitement for guests.
