The National Cryptologic Museum is the very first public museum that is located inside the US Intelligence Community. It is commissioned by the National Security Agency in Fort Meade, Maryland. It was opened in 1993.

The National Cryptologic Museum holds collections of artifacts from the past wars, discussing the history of cryptology in the US. The highlights of the display are the equipment used to secure information as well as encrypt and decrypt messages. There are also sections that commemorate the major roles African-Americans and women, as well as the different languages, played in the development of cryptology in the country.

There?s also the NSA Hall of Honor inside the National Cryptologic Museum, as a memorial to those who gave outstanding additions to American cryptology.
