The Historic Electronics Museum, which is also known as the National Electronics Museum, is divided into 12 fascinating galleries that relay the history of electronics. These are the Fundamentals Gallery, the Early Radar Gallery, the Communications Gallery, the Cold War Radar Gallery, the Modern Radar Gallery, the Under Seas Gallery, the Countermeasures Gallery, the Electro-optical Gallery, the Space Sensor Gallery, the Web Gallery, the WWII Radar Kiosk, and the Past Gallery.

Founded in 1973, the museum began as a product exhibit presented by Robert Dwight, an employee of Baltimore?s Westinghouse Defense & Electronics System during the company?s Family Day celebration. The exhibit carried the title Yesterday, Today, & Tomorrow and consisted of a trio of airborne radars to provide an example of radar representing different eras in radar history. The success of the exhibit encouraged Dwight to look for a more formal setting and a comprehensive collection of radar and electronic artefacts. Together with another Westinghouse employee and former US Air Force Jack Sun, Dwight was eventually able to acquire a BOMARC missile radar from the country?s Defense Department.
