The Ripken Museum provides a gathering place for people to interact and share insights on the lives of Cal Sr., Cal Jr., and Bill. The Museum enables the extraordinary legacy and traditional values of the Ripken family to be experienced by the present and future generations.

The Museum features a collection of fascinating memorabilia that were used or related to the careers of Cal Sr., Cal Jr., and Bill. It also features displays and memorabilia that were loaned from Cal. Jr., and the other members, close friends, and fans of the Ripken family. The Museum began in the Spring of 1996. It was created to highlight and inspire people by reliving their spirit of loyalty, dedication, and perseverance, things that some thought no longer exists in baseball, so that the visitors will be able to take with them a part of that spirit that will help them enrich their lives.

It also houses its own gift shop that offers Ripken memorabilia for sale. The Museum also welcomes donations and loans.
