Bridges are certainly a major part of history, as it serves the purpose of letting people across to other places. The state of Maryland is certainly no stranger to this one, having countless of bridges criss crossing its terrain. One such bridge is the Utica Mills Covered Bridge.
Utica Bridge has a rather interesting story. The bridge itself initially crossed the Monocacy River. However, when a sudden flooding of the river damaged the bridge, the residents of the area decided to have it moved to its present location two miles away.
Today, the bridge serves as not only a pedestrian pathway for people crossing the area, but also a scenic landmark for folks wishing to see the sights of the region.
