The Walter Arts Museum, renowned for its collection of art, provides its visitors an understanding of world art dating back from the pre-dynastic Egypt all the way to 20th century Europe. Some of its highly significant pieces include Greek sculpture and Roman sarcophagi, Old Master paintings, and medieval ivories Art Deco jewelry and 19th-century American and European masterpieces.

The Museum features both permanent and travelling exhibits featuring art collections amassed by 2 men, William and Henry Walters, before they were passed on the City of Baltimore.

Today, the Museum?s collection contains over 28,000 objects, including Egyptian mummy masks, medieval armor, and other 19th century French impressionism objects. The Museum was also redesigned to present the world-class collections more efficiently, allowing visitors to gain greater insights in a more personal viewing experience.
