The Ward Museum is named after Stephen and Lemuel Ward, who pioneered the transition of the decoy from a working tool into an expressive wildfowl sculpture. It features the largest and finest public collection of decorative, rare, and antique decoys in the world.
Situated next to the Schumaker Pond, it has becomes one of the most cherished part in its community. It has the reputation for excellence because of its artworks that enable visitors to see the beauty of wildfowl from around the globe.
Today, the museum, a prominent institution in Maryland, has 50 members from all over the country. The museum also features some contributions from artists who have carved birds as tools for hunt and as objects for enjoyment.
