The Ames Nowell State Park is a state park and recreation area in Abington, Massachusetts. It is located 25 miles out of Boston.
Covering 700 acres, the Ames Nowell State Park offers a wide range of outdoor recreation. Its main feature, the manmade Cleveland Pond, is perfect for boating, fishing, and canoeing. The pond is quite popular among water recreation enthusiasts, what with its wide range offers and opportunities.
Aside from the ones mentioned above, visitors of the Ames Nowell State Park can also easily enjoy horseback riding, picnicking, hiking, biking, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing at the park. It also has a ball field for athletic activities. Being a day-use only park, it doesn’t offer camping, but is open to the public all year round.
