The Beartown State Forest is a state park and natural area in Monterey, Massachusetts. It is an excellent year round recreation area as it offers a wide range of activities.

It is a great summer getaway with the 35-acre Benedict Pond that is ideal for boating, swimming, and fishing. Hiking is also frequently enjoyed at the site as it takes visitors through trails that will also provide opportunities for wildlife viewing. On winter seasons, the site transforms and becomes perfect for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.
