The Cape Cod Rail Trail is a state park and recreation area in South Dennis, Massachusetts. It is a rail to trail destination found in Cape Cod.
Originally an abandoned Old Colony Railroad Corridor, the Cape Cod Rail Trail was transformed into a recreational trail by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. It extends from Route 134 in South Dennis to South Wellfleet’s LeCount Hollow Road. It measures about 25 miles and passes through the towns of Dennis, Orleans, Harwich, Brewster, and Wellfleet. It also connects to other bike trails like the one in Nickerson State Park , Old Colony Rail Trail, and the Nauset Bike Trail.
The Cape Cod Rail Trail will take you through various scenic and historic spots and if you start at South Dennis, you can easily end up at the Marconi and LeCount Hollow beaches.
