The D.A.R. State Forest is a state park and recreation area in Goshen, Massachusetts. It is a gorgeous natural area that is ideal for outdoor recreation.
Covering almost two thousand acres of space, the D.A.R. State Forest started out in 1929 through a donation from the Daughters of the American Revolution. The organization gave the Commonwealth of Massachusetts 1020 acres to turn it into a state forest.
Nestles in the Berkshires’ eastern foothills, the D.A.R. State Forest is perfect for various sorts of outdoor recreation. It has 15 miles of trails ideal for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, snowshoeing, skiing, and snowmobiling. There are also several campsites available for reservation. The park also offers opportunities for fishing, swimming, canoeing, and kayaking.
