The Dighton Rock State Park is a state park and recreation area in Berkeley, Massachusetts. It is mostly used for picnicking, although other recreational opportunities are also available at the site.
The main attraction at the Dighton Rock State Park is the 40-ton rock that is notable for its carvings. Although, its origins are quite controversial, as it is not exactly pinned down whether it is really petroglyphs made by ancient Native Americans, settlers, or whatever. The rock was originally located on the Tauton River which is located nearby, but it was recently moved to the museum that now serves as the center piece of the park.
Aside from seeing the Dighton Rock, visitors of the Dighton Rock State Park can also enjoy hiking, fishing, canoeing, boating, mountain biking, picnicking, and skiing at the site.
