The Flying Horse Carousel in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts is the nation?s oldest platform carousel that is still operational. For over one hundred and thirty five years, the carousel has take generations of children down the magical lane of fantasy and imagination.

The carousel was built in 1876 and has been a piece of living history in New England and the rest of the country. It is located in the island of Martha?s Vineyard, where it relocated in 1884. The carousel was once part of the historic Coney Island boardwalk. Twenty hand-carved wooden horses with real horsechairs adorn the carousel. The Flying Horses is among the few existing carousel with a ring machine, a brass ring dispenser that offer free tickets to kids who can nab one.
