There?s no secret that immigrants flooded the US during the colonial times. These folks are the ancestors of the people in this country today. This is also, mostly the reason why certain landmarks are in commemoration to such history.

The Irish Round Tower in St. Mary?s Cemetery in Milford, Massachusetts is one example of such. Built in the late 1800s to commemorate the Irish traditions of the settlers in the area, it is now one of the top attractions around.

This Irish Round Tower in Milford is the only structure of its kind in the US. Tons of it can be found all over Ireland and some in Scotland, near monasteries and churches. They were believed to be originally used for refuge and lookout posts back in the Dark Ages.
