The Job Lane House was constructed in 1715 using a land that was part of an original grant from King Charles II in the 17th century.

The salt box-style house was made bigger and its interior was remodeled using a Federal style of architecture in 1827. In the early 1970’s, the house was purchased by the Town of Bedford and was restored by various town groups including the Rotary Club, the Woman’s Club, the Bedford Minuteman Company, the Bedford Historical Society, the Brown Family of Bedford, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and the Friends of Job Lane House, Inc.

The House museum opened to the public in 1981. Visitors can view the Deacon Job Lane house on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month from May to October.
