The Neponset River Reservation is a state park and recreation area in Hyde Park, Massachusetts. It features a diverse natural habitat that is under the protection of the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.
The site of the Neponset River Reservation has been publicly owned since the late 1880s, when it became the very first salt marshes in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to be owned by a government agency. It marked the start of the acquisition of the entire 750 acres that runs along the Neponset River.
In 1986, the acquired lands were turned into a park and now offer a wide array of recreational opportunities including birding, fishing, hiking, boating, and kayaking. The site is also excellent for nature study, containing a natural estuary with an extensive marshland and freshwater wetlands.
