Being a port town back in the day, the New England Pirate Museum discusses the maritime history of the area. Like other museums, it gives out a quick tour, filling in people how the pirate background of Salem when it was still a bustling port town, where many infamous ships have docked and stayed for a while.

It is believed that the pirate history was upstaged by the witch trials in Salem. They happened in the same era, making it surprising for some visitors to learn about something else, aside from the witch history of the old town.

Today, the New England Pirate Museum is a spot that folks can visit if they want an interactive way of exploring Salem’s history and past.
