The Nickerson State Park is a state park and recreation area in Brewster, Massachusetts. It is located near Cape Cod and is best noted for its beautiful scenery resembling the Berkshire Hills and the Carolinas.
Covering 1900 acres, the Nickerson State Park is quite unique in terms of sights that are found in Cape Cod. Unlike other areas in the locale, it doesn?t have sand dunes and salt marshes. Instead, it is packed with woods and eight crystal clear fresh water kettle ponds. There are mo streams or rivers nearby, and these ponds rely largely on groundwater and precipitation.
Visitors of the Nickerson State Park can easily enjoy the scenery at the park. However, there are also tons of other recreational opportunities available at the park including hiking, biking, canoeing, yurt camping, mountain biking, swimming, skiing, and horseback riding among many others.
