The Sandwich Glass Museum has promoted far-reaching understanding and appreciation for the town history of Sandwich. Incorporated as the Sandwich Historical Society, the Museum emphasizes on the unique contribution of the glass industry to the local community as well as to the region, the nation, and the rest of the world.

The Sandwich Historical Society and its Glass Museum work toward the collection, preservation, and interpretation of this history. And because a large part of Sandwich history is involved with American glass production, the Museum uses utilizes its collection of glass and historic images in order to fulfill its objectives and mission.

In presenting its collections to the public, the Sandwich Glass Museum combines classic exhibits with state-of-the-art technology in order to bring to life the stories and history that it shares. It features the Dining Room where numerous glass objects are made, the Color & Chemistry Room, the Levine Gallery of Early American Lighting, and many more. The Museum?s collection consists of about 5,000 pieces of items that were made in the Boston & Sandwich Glass Company many centuries ago, from 1825 to 1888.
