It is home to a wide variety of plant and animal life, but is also packed with things that you can enjoy. Mostly, it is visited for its trails that are designed for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and cross country skiing. Hunting is also allowed at the park, with matching restrictions, of course.

Visitors of the Upton State Forest should also note that the park is a Carry-In Carry-Out facility, so folks are required to take their trash out as they leave.
