Museo de la Historia de Ponce or History of Ponce Museum is a good place to start when you want to know more about Puerto Rico. This beautiful museum shows the growth of the Puerto Rican civiliazation since the Taino Indians era. The museum is lkarge enough to have ten galleries inside exhibiting the growth of civilization, culture, medicine, economy, architecture, education, ecology, politics, and daily life. Most of the artifacts were donated by local citizen. The typical architecture of the building is the ponceno Morris with some typical elements of a neoclassical architecture.
The Museum is open every Monday to Friday at 9 am to 5 pm. It is also open to public during weekends at 10 am to 6 pm. The museum is not available during holidays and special occasions. Admission is $3 for adlt and $1 for children.
