Palacio de Bellas Artes, both a performance venue and an art museum, is an opulent and dramatic mix of early-20th-century Art Nouveau and 1930s Art Deco with its steel Mayan masks, bronze cacti, a glass mosaic which depicts the valley of Mexico, and murals done by Diego Rivera and Rufina Tamayo. Following its inauguration, the Palace housed a theatre, museum, library, and restaurant, and has been home to the National Arts Institute since 1946.
Today, the Palacio de Bellas Artes is considered to be the most important culture centre in the Mexican Republic. A masterpiece of art for people from all walks of life and taste in art to visit and enjoy.
