Does the name Harry Blackstone, Sr. ring a bell? If you know your magic history, you'll probably be interested to know that there is a place in Michigan that contains a vast collection of his magic props, plus a few more from Houdini and Thurston, among others. You’ll find these at the American Museum of Magic in Marshall City, Michigan.

This museum was the brainchild of Bob Lund who started gathering famous magician’s props, costumes, posters and other collectibles in the middle of 1930’s until the year of his death in 1995.

It was in the 70’s when Bob, together with his wife Elaine, decided to transfer to a bigger house in the historic neighborhood of Marshall. They bought themselves a 3-storey old estate and the nearby old town library to house their growing collection of magic artifacts.

Today, years after Bob and Elaine have passed away, the museum still opens its doors to the public with the help of new management. The museum is now considered as the biggest collection of magic equipment, with the addition of privately owned books and photos about magic.
