The Arab American National Museum in Dearborn, Michigan is the first museum in the United States to feature the history and legacy of Arab-Americans. It opened on May 5, 2005 and according to its website, its mission is to ?document, preserve, celebrate, and educate? the American people about the ?history, life, culture, and contributions? of Arab-Americans in the United States. The museum aims to be the main resource center about things pertaining to the appreciation and understanding of Arab-Americans.

The museum also aspires to be voice and face of Arab Americans to the public in order to promote harmony and dispel negative misconceptions about the Arab Americans and other minorities. The museum features 2 permanent exhibits: one, the contributions of the Arabs to science and technology; and two, the Arab experience in America, including a gallery of prominent Arab-Americans.
