Bay View is a picturesque community in Emmet County in the state of Michigan. It was established in 1875 by the United Methodist Church as a retreat. This was a popular thing to do, back at the time as Camp Meetings ensured better promotion of the intellect, culture, religion, and morality. In 1886, the first educational programs and services started, and the community began to develop around these events as well.
Best known for its beautiful summer cottages and peaceful ambience, visitors can expect hundreds of picturesque cottages. Other activities are also available, as there is a beach, children?s pool, two hotels, a recreation house, and a sail house on the site.
Bay View is a National Historic Landmark District and a Michigan State Historic Site.
