The Benjamin Blacksmith Shop was traditionally a blacksmithy in Mackinac Island. It was in operation even before the postmaster Robert Benjamin bought it in 1885. From then, it was continuously operated on Market Street by the Benjamin family.

The Benjamin Blacksmith shop primarily produced horseshoes. Since the island did not allow motor vehicles in the area, someone needed to produce such products. However, since the island was small, the demands weren?t enough to allow the family to specialize in the craft, this is why they also did craft forge operations on the side.

In 1968, the Benjamin Blacksmith Shop was donated to the Mackinac Island State Park Commission to save it from closure. The structure was then moved inside the grounds of the park. It may have stopped producing horseshoes, but it still operates as a blacksmithy in front of the visitors. It also holds an annual Blacksmith convention.
