Established in 1928, the Detroit Historical Museum is one of the oldest and largest museums in America that are dedicated to metropolitan history. With more than 80,000 square feet of space for exhibits, it contains over 600 historic artifacts covering over 300 years of Detroit history. It also boasts of its own attractions, including The Streets of Old Detroit, it?s signature exhibit showcasing a 19th century street scene, and The Motor City, an opportunity for visitors to understand how the automobile industry affected and shaped the region. Another attraction is the Frontiers to Factories, which allows visitors to take a glimpse at the first settlers of Detroit.
