At present, the Grand Rapids Art Museum has in display several exhibitions including Birds of America, Ladislav Hanka, and the Regional Arts Exhibition under the Festival of the Arts program. Also available at the site is a research and library center, a regional gallery, and the Jansma Family Works at the Paper Study Room. The museum is also holding its annual Art Prize contest, with selected entries scheduled to be a part of one of the museum?s future exhibits.

The Education Department of the museum can be found at the Fred & Lena Meijer Education Center, which provides studio and workspaces for students and resident artists as well as an orientation area for large tour groups. There are also baby changing stations and other amenities to ensure the comfort of visitors.

In 2007, the museum relocated to its present site, which occupies an entire block and comes with 125,000 square feet of floor area. Almost half of that is devoted to galleries and exhibition areas alone. The new location also places the museum in proximity to one of the city?s parks.
