The House of David is a historical religious society, formally known as The Israelite House of David. It was formed in Benton Harbor, Michigan in 1903 by Benjamin and Mary Purnell. It then formed a colony, which started as a 1000 acre land in 1906. This is where members grew grain and dozen orchards. They also had other facilities allowing a more comfortable living setup. They even had two orchestras, three brass bands, and a zoo on the site.

After some time, the House of David faced some controversies involving the patriarch and some minor girls. Factions started to arise that time.

Nonetheless, the group was able to produce a world renowned zoo and amusement park. A vacation spot popular in the 1930s, known as the ?Springs of Eden Park?, has also been a product of the group and a new version is said to open in 2011.
