The Meyer May House is the most complete restoration of all homes designed and built by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The historic home was purchased by Steelcase in 1985, and the company had right after worked on extensive research to uncover the architect?s original visions for the 1909 property. Ultimately, the expensive and heavy restoration project took two years to complete and included original furnishing as well as the finest reproductions for the interior.

Wright had originally designed the property for a wealthy Grand Rapids clothier and by then, he had already fully developed his well-known Prairie style for designing and building structures.

There are no admission charges for those visiting the Meyer May House. Docent-led tours are also available, and majority of the House?s guides have over twenty years of experience in doing voluntary work at the property.
