Nearing its 100th anniversary of completion is the Pike River Bridge in Chassell, Michigan. Completed in 1914 and still basically unaltered all throughout its almost a century of existence and use, this bridge is a great example of the structural type that was used pioneered by the Michigan State Highway Department. This said innovation used the steel stringer design, and this bridge is one of the first built to have the said technology.

Today, the Pike River Bridge is still fully functional and in excellent condition. It wasn?t exactly restored or renovated in the past, proving the excellence of its design.

The Pike River Bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999 and is still open to traffic today.
