Located in the only refuge harbor in a stretch of dangerous coast, the Seul Choix Light has been built in 1892 and was in operation since 1895. It is one of those few active navigational aids that is open to the public and even allow climbing to the towers.
The Seul Choix Light is located in the northwest corner of Lake Michigan, in an area in Schoolcraft County, Michigan. It was automated in 1972 and is still currently operated as a lighthouse. With its attractive brick structures, it has been a subject of needlepoint illustrations and drawings. The folk singer Carl Behrend even named one of his albums after the structure.
Today, the Seul Choix Light is open to the public from Memorial Day to mid-October.
