Built in 1950, the Veldheer Tulip Gardens started out as a simple hobby farm by Vern Veldheer. His original collection consists of three hundred white tulips and a hundred red ones. Today, it?s the only perennial tulip farm in the city and boasts of more than five million tulips for visitors to enjoy throughout the year. Not only that but those who wish to have their very own tulip farm may do so as the Veldheer Tulip Gardens also sell tulips of all varieties from all over the world and which are ready for planting in your backyard.

The best times to visit the gardn would be between the last few days of April until the middle weeks of May. Also available at the site are over twenty thousand crocus, ten thousand hyacinths and a whopping fifty thousand daffodils.
