Established in the 1970s, the Voigt House Victorian Museum is a historic house museum under the care of the Public Museum of Grand Rapids. It was the home of the Voigt family from 1896 until the youngest son, Ralph Voigt, died in 1971.
The Voigt House Victorian Museum is a really great example of the life in the late 1800s to the early half of the 1900s, as the house is almost like a time capsule of the Victorian era, as it has never been remodeled while the family occupied it. It displays how the life of a prominent local family is like in the past century, making it a really interesting place to visit.
The Public Museum of Grand Rapids acquired the Voigt House when the last Voigt died. It is now open for special events.
