Inspired by Gothic architecture, the Cathedral of St. Paul was built in the early 1900?s and is considered as one of the most historic large churches in America. The cathedral, being the mother church of the Archdiocese of Minneapolis has at least 800,000 members, not including other people who come from a different religious background who visit the historic site from time to time.

The construction of the building started in 1904 under the leadership of Archbishop John Ireland. Inspired by French architecture, the church has a giant dome on top which measures 57 meters high and 23 meters in diameter. Listed as a landmark by the National Register of Historic Buildings, The Cathedral of Saint Paul is no doubt one of the city?s architectural prides.
