Christ Church Lutheran was constructed by the partnership of Finnish architect?s father and son Eliel Saarinen and Eero Saarinen in 1911. The building was made as a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America or ELCA located at 3244 34th Avenue South, Minneapolis Minnesota. But in the 1970?s the group left the congregation as part of a dispute that had the Association of Evangelical Lutheran Churches made.

The worship building is known for the architecture of its worship buildings which are currently in the list of the National Register of Historic Pages. The structure was the last completed building of Eliel Saarinen. The stone panels were designed by William M. McVey as a dedication of the buildings architectural masterpiece.
