The Crow Wing County Historical Society Museum is located in the house of the former sheriff and is used to be the county jail in Brainerd. It has a wide variety of exhibits that feature numerous items from ancient activities like logging, mining, railroad and other American Indian artifacts. It features displays that signify the things that pioneered life in the county.

Majority of the art pieces you will see in the museum revolve around Western hemisphere native art and other artifacts that are related to the Wild West, hence it is called as a historical museum. It also houses rare minerals found in mining and other geological attractions. This historical society museum has been established since 1927 and is composed of three floors, all completely restored.
